It was great to meet this little family and capture their sweet girl at age 1. 

These are the Olson's

Stella is beyond sweet and almost walking. Almost. 

She's right at that stage when she wants to practice all the time holding on my mom & dad for security. 

I love this first shot of them :)

And here she is. The birthday girl.

She is so loved and cherished.

Here's how the story goes...

two people meet, fall in love, start a life, and then... a little miracle is born.

Their little miracle is Kekoa Kai. 

He just turned 2

And then a love, playfulness, and joy beyond what we've ever known becomes an everyday part of our lives. 

there is A LOT of love, playfulness & joy in this family.

So happy to spend time with them on a beautiful Sunday morning.

Well, Sadie is now 3 and Dalia 1

So we had a shoot to celebrate :)

It was a fun morning with these cuties.

Brendy & Drew | A courthouse wedding| Bay Area Wedding Photography

What an honor it was to be at this wedding!

 Brendy and I met when I finally had the courage to reach out and let someone I didn't know take care of my baby. Ava was 16 months old, and two years later, Brendy is part of our family. She has been a gift in our lives, full of love, and the purest sweetness. We love her and were thrilled to hear she had met the man she wanted to marry, and even more thrilled to be asked to be there. 

Brendy and Drew had a small courthouse wedding. It was all said and done in 15 minutes! :)

Brendy had her best friend, mom and dad, and Drew had his mom and dad, that's it. 

sweet & simple.

It was a little tense getting there. Traffic stopped on 880 N and we were all stuck in it (in a panic). 

I got there before they did. 

What a relief to get there just in time and see each other.

It's their wedding day!

I love the looks on their faces.

so genuine.

...all paper work signed and...

Playing in the Rose Garden with Ansley | Bay Area Children's Photography

Little Ansley just turned 2, so her mama set up a shoot just for her! 

Look at her. I love her sweet face and all the expressions it makes. 

She was cautious of me, which I can appreciate. My Ava is very much the same of people she doesn't know.

Once she warmed up we had fun in the Rose Garden together. 

Such a beautiful place with a pretty little girl

(ps. look at how much she's grown since last fall- amazing!)

And now she's 2!

Baby Julia & Big Brother Phineas | Bay Area Newborn Photography

Remember Phineas? 

Well he's a big brother now to 6 week old baby Julia. 

2 beautiful children meant to be siblings.

Julia is still so new to the household that, to be truthful, Phineas isn't all that interested, nor should he be. she can't read him Moonthief yet, or play with his piano and airplanes. While Julia nursed I got to play with this smiley boy. He carried his favorite book everywhere we went and was glad to have me follow him.

Then Miss Julia came out to play with us. Well, not really, mama's milk put her right back out :) 

As it should be when you're 6 weeks old.

We laid her in the shade, all swaddled up on a, homemade just for her, quilt and watched her sleep. 

It's a peaceful, serene thing to get to do.

Luckily she opened her blue eyes to see who was moving her around and we got to see how bright they are.

Welcome baby Julia!

A nice ending to our shoot. Phineas, upon request, came over to kiss his new sister.

A Few days after the shoot this little family moved to North Carolina.

Happy travels to NC, Julia & Phineas.

100th Birthday Shoot | Bay Area Family Photography

This amazing man, Oscar, turned 100 on August 2, 2011.

I can't tell you in words how "with it" he is. You'd have to meet him in person to understand.

He's amazing. Still full of laughter, fun,  a goofy spirit, and love for his family.

In honor of him, his family organized a shoot to capture everyone together with their

"Lolo" (Filipino for Grandpa).
